CSC INTRODUCES TELECOMMUNICATIONS COST SAVINGS
OFFERING
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 10 – Computer Sciences
Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced the introduction
of CSC Telecom Expense Management (CSC TEM), a new service
that can reduce a firm’s telecommunications expenses
significantly.
CSC TEM manages telecommunications inventory, handles
invoice processing and performs dispute management while
identifying and eliminating erroneous charges and recommending
cost savings options.
Industry estimates indicate that up to eight percent
of an organization's telecommunications invoices are
erroneous, resulting in an average loss of $8 million
in profits per year. Although CSC had tight cost-control
measures in place prior to implementing CSC TEM internally,
the company has already saved more than $1 million in
telecommunications invoice processing and related administrative
costs since the beginning of its current fiscal year
with the new service.
“Companies are becoming more and more frustrated
by confusing and often multiple telecommunications invoices,” said
Ian Murray, CSC TEM product manager. “While various
services are available that examine different elements
of telecommunications invoicing, CSC is among the first
tier 1 service providers with the experience to address
all aspects of the process and provide significant results.”
CSC TEM is part of CSC’s Converged
Networks offering, which provides a flexible and scalable
network infrastructure
that improves communications between staff, vendors and
customers, delivering significant operational cost savings.
Clients operating a converged network have the ability
to develop richer, smarter, high-value processes that
help differentiate them in the marketplace.
The database application employed by
CSC TEM is powered by a commercial off-the-shelf product
called Quickcomm.
According to Murray, “We selected Quickcomm as
the underlying database for our offering because it supports
all forms of telecommunications, across all currencies.”
