Vanco still the perfect fit for Lee Cooper’s
expanding requirements
Flexible VNO model delivers MPLS upgrade at
half the price of previous Wide Area Network to UK clothing
company
Vanco, the pioneering global Virtual Network Operator
(VNO), is pleased to announce that Lee Cooper, a leading
UK-domiciled designer, distributor, and marketer of
branded clothing and accessories, has signed a new
three-year
contract for the continued outsourcing of its Wide
Area Network.
Lee Cooper originally signed with Vanco
in 1997, before upgrading its network in 2003 to an
Internet Leased Line
solution delivering more bandwidth to its expanding operations.
This new three-year deal, which takes the relationship
through to 2008, sees further capacity increases as Vanco
migrates the network to an MPLS network. Vanco’s
flexible Virtual Network Operator model, underpinned
by the freedom to change underlying technology or infrastructure
provider, ensures that this transition takes places quickly
and smoothly. Meanwhile, Vanco’s ongoing pursuit
of the most competitive pricing from the carriers used
means that it is also able to pass on a massive 47 percent
saving on the cost of the previous Wide Area Network.
Additionally, Vanco has further improved
bandwidth efficiency by employing its ‘Active Backup’ solution,
a Policy Based Routing technique used to direct non-critical
data, such as email and Internet browsing, across DSL
infrastructure freeing up the main core network for business
critical applications.
Vanco UK MD Mark Thompson commented, “Vanco’s
Virtual Network Operator model continues to deliver the
lowest lifetime cost on Wide Area Network solutions.
Lee Cooper is a client that first selected our innovative
approach some time ago, yet continues to benefit from
huge cost savings, as we pass on falling bandwidth prices,
and an incredibly flexible network. We are proud that
when the new Lee Cooper ownership came in, we were able
to show them a higher bandwidth, more resilient network
at almost half the price. We believe that we are a true
partner to IT Directors in meeting their business goals.”
Lee Cooper’s IT Director, David Scollen, commented, “Vanco
has again excelled in designing a network solution that
meets our business requirements perfectly – as
our bandwidth requirements have increased the combination
of MPLS and Active Backup will ensure that our WAN continues
to support our business strategies. Meanwhile, the impressive
cost saving that Vanco has been able to pass on reflects
both the value of the Virtual Network Operator approach,
and Vanco’s proactive attitude to its clients.”
